Pick-up and drop-off are in the same city, because we do not run one-way hires between any of the five. Asking is not booking here, and that is how this market works: the local companies confirm by hand too, rather than selling you a car a database believes is free. Nothing is taken from your card while you wait, so there is nothing to cancel. Send this before 20:00 Cyprus time and you have our answer the same evening, later than that and you have it first thing in the morning. We answer between 08:00 and 23:00, Cyprus time.

Pick your dates and we check them against the fleet live, then show you what is available and what those days cost. Pick-up and drop-off must be the same city. No prepayment, and nothing is held until we confirm.

Rents in Cyprus LTD, cars island-wide. Rates read from our own price list on 3 August 2026.

We hand the car over in one city and take it back in the same city. There is no one-way between any two of our five cities, and a wrong-location return is charged from €300. That is the first thing to know if you are planning to drive the whole island for a month.

What counts as a long-term hire, and what we publish

A long-term hire in Cyprus usually means 28 days or more. That is the line the market itself draws. One operator's booking system, at cyprus-car.com, stops accepting the dates at exactly 28 days. Infinite Car Rentals' shortest long-term tier is one month, and the Cyprus rental guide realcy.app uses the same 28-day figure (all read 14 August 2026).

Our minimum is one day, so there is no cliff to fall off. A 12-day hire, a 40-day hire and a five-month hire are the same product from the same fleet, and you do not have to qualify for a category.

Here is the part most pages in this search leave out. We do not publish a monthly figure. Our rates move with the season and with how long you hire for, so one printed monthly number would be wrong for most windows, and we would rather price the dates you actually want than print a figure we have not committed to.

What we do instead is check your exact dates against our own price list and tell you what those days cost, before you send us anything. If you want the daily rates the whole fleet starts from, they are in the table below, and you can compare them with car hire across Cyprus.

What it costs at 30 days, and why there is still no monthly figure

Every rate below is our own price list at the length this page is about. The long column is the day rate on a hire of 30 days or more, which is the figure a long-term hire actually pays; the short column is one day, for comparison. Rates do not change by city, and none of them includes the optional Collision Damage Waiver, which is €15 a day on cars and leaves a €300 excess.

Rates read from our own price list on 26 August 2026. The Note, the e-Power, the Vitz and the Fit have no band above 30 days, so their deepest published rate is the 7-to-30-day one shown. Re-checked every 90 days and before each season.

Read how we verify prices for the method and the dates behind every figure here.

Three things about those numbers. They move with the season as well as with the length, so the table is a dated reading rather than a quote. We publish no monthly rate, no weekly rate and no percentage saving, because none of those is a figure our price list holds; what it does hold, and what the left column now states, is the day rate at each length band. And the availability check reads the live rate for the dates you pick, which is the only number that describes your hire rather than an average of everyone's.

For context, these are other operators' published figures rather than ours:

  • Hertz Cyprus publishes a 12-month monthly card from €14 a day (read 14 August 2026).
  • Infinite Car Rentals publishes €480 to €550 for a first month on an economy car (read 14 August 2026).
  • MAS Cars publishes €18 a day at 26 days or more (read 14 August 2026).
  • Camel Drive publishes small cars from €400 a month, on a three-month minimum (read 14 August 2026).

Our own day rate on the Nissan March at 30 days or more is €17, against €65 for a single day, and the €17 lands close to where a competitor's economy month works out per day (our arithmetic on Infinite Car Rentals' published monthly figure, not a per-day rate they publish themselves).

One day rates confirmed 26 August 2026, with the longer-hire rate under each card, excluding the optional Collision Damage Waiver. Photographs show the class rather than the exact car you will be given, and sending a request does not hold a vehicle until we confirm it.

Where the car has to come back

We hand the car over in one city and take it back in the same city, in all five cities we serve. There is no one-way hire between any two of them, and returning a car to the wrong location is charged from €300.

We put that here rather than in the terms because a company listing five cities reads like a company you can drive across and drop off at the far end. Plenty of operators are exactly that. We are not, and the end of a month-long hire is the worst possible moment to discover it.

Within a city you have room to move: we can hand over at an office, at the airport in Paphos, or at an address you give us, and the return goes back to the same city rather than the same spot. If you want the Paphos detail, our Paphos page covers what a wrong-location return costs there.

Here too a competitor beats us. MAS Cars publishes a different-location return at €30 (read 14 August 2026). We do not do it at any price.

Ask About Your Dates

The deposit, the card, and what we take before you collect

There is no prepayment. You pay on pick-up, in cash or by card, and nothing leaves your account while a request is with us.

On the deposit, the rule and its condition travel together. With a valid credit card there is no cash deposit, subject to approval, vehicle category and rental conditions. Otherwise a refundable deposit or a pre-authorisation on the card may be held.

That is worth setting against what this market usually asks for. realcy.app puts the normal requirement at a credit card with €1,500 to €3,000 of available limit, with debit cards refused for the pre-authorisation (read 14 August 2026). The highest-ranking monthly rate card in this search, Hertz Cyprus, asks for three monthly rentals paid in advance as a guarantee, and keeps them if the hire ends before the 12 months are up. Camel Drive asks you to pay and sign the contract as step three of four. Infinite Car Rentals names a refundable deposit and publishes no figure for it. All read 14 August 2026.

And one operator has a cleaner answer than ours: MAS Cars publishes zero blocked on the card and no credit card required (read 14 August 2026). Ours is conditional. Theirs is not.

If you are searching for long-term car rental in Cyprus with no deposit, this is the honest version of that answer: often none with a credit card, sometimes a hold without one, and never a prepayment either way. Sending us a request costs nothing, holds nothing, and takes nothing from your card while you wait for our reply.

What is included and what is extra

In the rateExtra, and what it costs

Delivery to a hotel, villa or address across the Paphos area and in Limassol, at any length of hireLate return, €100 plus €20 for each started hour
On five days or more: unlimited mileage, a second driver, a baby seat on request, a Paphos Airport meet-and-greetReturning the car to the wrong location, charged from €300
Traffic fines, which stay with the driver
Terms read from our own rate card and rental terms on 3 August 2026, with the waiver's daily price confirmed on 11 August 2026.

Read the waiver's exclusions before you decide about it, because they are the part that matters and they are not small print. The waiver covers eligible bodywork. It does not cover off-road use, tyres, glass, the underbody, the interior, or keys. Third-party liability is stated here as the cover included in our own rate, not as a summary of Cyprus insurance law.

One competitor here does better than us on this: MAS Cars publishes zero-excess options (read 14 August 2026). We do not offer one. Our answer is the €15 a day waiver that leaves €300.

What a longer hire adds, free: the five-day line

On any hire of five days or more, four things become free: unlimited mileage subject to our rental terms, a second driver, a baby seat on request, and a meet-and-greet at Paphos Airport.

Every long hire clears that line by definition. If you are hiring for a month, you are not being asked to qualify for anything, and there is no threshold to watch.

The mileage term is the one worth comparing. Two of the international operators ranking for this search cap a long hire at roughly 2,000 kilometres a month, and realcy.app puts the charge past the cap at €0.08 to €0.15 per kilometre (read 14 August 2026). Both ends of that are the narrow reading: rent-me.cy publishes €0.20 per kilometre over a 2,000 kilometre limit (read 10 April 2026), and a resident on the island reports a contract capped at 1,700 kilometres a month, discovered after signing. So read the mileage clause before you sign, whoever you hire from. On a month in Cyprus, driving from Paphos to Nicosia and back a few times will pass 2,000 kilometres without trying.

The airport meet-and-greet is a Paphos Airport benefit.

Two things we will not claim, because plenty of pages in this search do and we have not committed to either: maintenance and servicing included over a long contract, and a replacement vehicle if yours is off the road.

Who can hire, and for how long

Our own requirements are short:

Cars, from 21

A licence held for at least two years, and the original licence in hand, not a photocopy.

The correct category

The correct category for what you are hiring.

We hire to 90, with a surcharge from 74

No surcharge to 73, then 15% on the rental line from 74 to 75 and 30% from 76 to 90. Over 90 we cannot hire. Confirmed 2 September 2026.

No minimum or maximum term

Our minimum is one day and we publish no maximum, so the hire runs for the window you ask for.

We hire to senior drivers, and the upper limit is 90 on the pick-up date. Drivers from 21 to 73 pay no surcharge; from 74 to 75 the rental line carries 15% more and from 76 to 90 it carries 30%, on the vehicle day-rate total only, not the waiver or a handover fee. Over 90 we cannot hire. The oldest named driver sets the band, so a 78-year-old second driver puts the whole hire in the 76-to-90 band. Confirmed with us on 2 September 2026.

On length: our minimum is one day and we publish no maximum. So the answer to "can I rent a car for 12 months" is that the hire runs for the window you ask for and we confirm it with you. Compare that with the minimums in this search, which run from 12 months at one international operator to three months at a Paphos operator, one month at another, and three days at a fourth.

If your stay runs past a few months, there are rules about how long you may keep driving on a licence from home and when Cyprus wants you to hold a local one. We do not summarise them here, because the Cyprus rule is not published in a form we are willing to quote, and a rental page is the wrong place to half-state a legal requirement. Our guide to driving in Cyprus, including what your licence has to be, is where we handle that, and it names its sources.

Where you collect it: five cities, two offices

We hire cars in five cities: Paphos, Limassol, Larnaca, Nicosia and Ayia Napa. What differs between them is where the handover happens and whether delivery is free, so here is the whole of it.

Handover points and coverage confirmed by the operator on 11 August 2026.

Two of those cities have an office you can walk into: Griva Digeni 55 in Chlorakas, which is our registered address, and Andrea Zaimi 11a in Limassol, which is a handover point rather than a second registered office. In Larnaca, Nicosia and Ayia Napa we bring the car to the address you give us, and there is no counter to come to. Delivery is free across the Paphos area and in Limassol. In the other three we have not set a delivery charge, so we agree it with you when we confirm the booking rather than printing a number we might not hold to.

Monthly rental in Nicosia works exactly like Paphos: the same nine cars, the same daily rates, the same five-day benefits. Limassol does not, and since 20 August 2026 that is a real difference rather than a wording one: the town has thirteen cars of its own and a rate that falls in four bands with the length of the hire, so a long hire there is priced from its own card and not from this one.

One limit applies wherever you collect the car. Taking it north of the Green Line needs our permission first, separate insurance for the northern part, and the right paperwork, and going over without our approval is an exclusion under our terms. Our driving guide covers what the crossing involves and cites its sources.

Our buggies and our scooter are hired in Paphos only, and they are not part of a long-term car hire.

Arriving at Larnaca Airport and heading for the Famagusta resorts? Our guide to getting from Larnaca Airport to Ayia Napa prices the fixed statutory taxi fare, both bus routes and a dated transfer quote for that leg, and says plainly that we deliver there rather than keeping a counter.

Ask About Handover

A long rental or buying: which is which

Two ways of paying for the same journey, and they are not the same product. A long rental is a hire: you pay for the days you use, there is no finance component and no residual value, and the price is set by duration. Buying ties up your capital and leaves you holding the resale risk.

We do the first one. Buying is a real option that suits real people, and the table below is honest about where it beats us.

Competitors' published figures, all read on 14 August 2026, quoted from their own pages.

The concessions in that table are real and worth stating plainly. Four of these operators include maintenance and servicing on a long contract and we publish neither. Two will swap the car mid-contract and we do not. One holds nothing on your card and needs no credit card. One will move the car to another city for €30 where we charge from €300 for the same mistake. And four of the five publish a monthly figure while we publish none, the fifth, Europcar, publishing only its contract terms.

So the verdict cuts both ways. If what you want is a fixed monthly charge printed on a page before you talk to anybody, an operator with a published ladder or a proper operating lease will serve you better than we will today. If what you want is to know what your actual dates cost, with nothing prepaid, nothing held and no minimum term to sign up to, ask us.

On renting against buying, realcy.app puts the break-even at around nine to twelve months for a mid-range car, and notes that private sales here commonly take four to eight weeks to complete (read 14 August 2026). We now publish our own arithmetic, and it lands earlier than that on a lean used car: at a resale loss of €1,000 the two sides cross at about 3.7 months, and at €2,000 at about 7.4. The nine-to-twelve figure reproduces on a mid-range car, not on the kind of small used car someone buys instead of hiring an economy one.

The whole sum is worth seeing rather than taking on trust, so it has its own page: own or hire a car in Cyprus, with the arithmetic shown sets our dated ladder against a year of ownership costed from gov.cy sources, and publishes the four cases where buying beats hiring from us.

There is a third product people mean when they say long-term, and it is not ours: an operating lease, a multi-year contract at a fixed monthly charge with the servicing and the road tax rolled in. We do not offer one, so we wrote up the alternatives instead. Car leasing in Cyprus or long-term rental, with nine products compared sets out the published minimum terms, deposits and mileage caps, and says plainly where a lease beats hiring from us.

How to get a price for your dates

Three steps. Pick your dates. See what is free and what those exact days cost. Send the request.

The availability check reads our own price list for the window you chose and prices it. It does not hold, reserve, book or confirm a car, and the screen after your signature says request, because that is what it is. Nothing is held until a person here confirms it with you.

We answer between 08:00 and 23:00, Cyprus time. A request sent before 20:00 gets an answer the same evening. Anything later gets one first thing the next morning. Cyprus time matters here: if you are reading this from the UK you are two hours behind us in August, and from Israel it is the same time as ours.

If you would rather talk it through, the phone is faster than any form, and a long hire usually has one question a form does not ask.

Check Availability

Questions people ask

The 28-day line, the deposit, whether it beats buying, the mileage cap and the one-way question, answered from our own terms and from named, dated observations.

Yes. The hire runs for the window you ask for and we publish no maximum, so a year is a conversation about dates rather than a different product. Our minimum is one day, which means nothing between a day and a year is out of reach. Several operators in this search work the other way round and set a minimum instead: 12 months at one international, three months at a Paphos operator, one month at another (read 14 August 2026). You get a price for your exact dates before you send us anything.

With a valid credit card there is no cash deposit, subject to approval, vehicle category and rental conditions. Without one, a refundable deposit or a pre-authorisation on the card may be held. Either way there is no prepayment: you pay on pick-up. For context, realcy.app puts the usual requirement at a credit card with €1,500 to €3,000 of available limit with debit cards refused, and Hertz Cyprus asks for three monthly rentals in advance. One operator, MAS Cars, publishes zero blocked on the card (read 14 August 2026).

For a long stay, usually yes, because public transport between the five cities we serve is limited and most long-stay residents end up driving. Whether it beats other options for your trip is a longer answer, and our guide on whether you should rent a car in Cyprus works through it.

We publish our own arithmetic on this now. On a lean used car, owning becomes cheaper than hiring from us between about four and seven months, depending entirely on what you lose on resale, and owning wins outright past a year. realcy.app puts the break-even at nine to twelve months for a mid-range car and says private sales here commonly take four to eight weeks (read 14 August 2026); that figure reproduces on a dearer car than the one most people buy instead of hiring an economy car. Renting keeps your capital free and carries no resale risk. The full sum is on our own-or-hire page.

No. Unlimited mileage is included on hires of five days or more, subject to our rental terms, so every long hire clears that line. Elsewhere in this market, two of the international operators ranking for this search cap at roughly 2,000 kilometres a month and realcy.app puts the charge past a cap at €0.08 to €0.15 per kilometre (read 14 August 2026), while rent-me.cy publishes €0.20 per kilometre and one resident reports a 1,700 kilometre monthly cap they only found after signing.

No. Returns are to the same city, in all five cities, and a wrong-location return is charged from €300. We say it early because it is the assumption that costs our customers the most. One operator in this search will move the car for €30 (read 14 August 2026). We will not do it at any price.
