Buggy rental in Cyprus starts at 60 euro a day with us for the two-seater, and buggy hire on the six-seat machine starts at 120 euro a day. Both rates come from our own price list, confirmed on 3 August 2026. Take the optional Collision Damage Waiver and the excess is 300 euro.
There is no prepayment. You pay on pick-up, in cash or by card.
We are Rents in Cyprus, and we hand keys over at four points in the Paphos area. Most of the island's buggy supply sits in Ayia Napa, Protaras and Paralimni, and none of that supply is ours, so this page states plainly where we can take a booking and where we cannot. We speak English and Russian.
Buggy rental in Cyprus is self-drive hire of a small off-road side-by-side vehicle, taken out on a route you agree with the operator rather than on a guided tour. We hire two of them, a two-seat 400cc machine and a six-seat four-wheel-drive crew cab, and the route is agreed in writing before you leave.

What it costs to hire a buggy in Cyprus
Our two-seat buggy is 60 euro a day and our six-seat buggy is 120 euro a day, both confirmed on 3 August 2026, with nothing to pay until pick-up.

What the island publishes
Of the eight Cyprus buggy rental pages we read on 4 August 2026, six publish no price at all. Easy Riders, which ranks first on this search in both the UK and Cyprus and advertises 300 vehicles, splits its rate card into three named seasons and prints no figure in any of them. KB Motorbikes lists nineteen machines as Price on Request. We name both practices and link neither.
The four-seat question, answered straight
The question people actually type is what a four-seater costs, so here is the straight answer: we do not have a four-seater. The six-seat CFMoto UForce 1000XL is the machine a group of four takes, and two island operators list that exact model with the price left blank.
You will also see these vehicles advertised as a dune buggy or a beach buggy depending on who is writing, and cyprus buggy rental turns up as often as the hire wording does. All of it describes the same seated side-by-side we hire.
A day with us means 24 hours, and hire starts from one hour. Neither of those is the market norm, and the tour comparison further down this page shows what the alternative looks like.

Who can drive one: licence, age and what to bring
Yes, you need a driving licence, and it has to be the correct category for the machine. Bring the original card, held for at least two years, rather than a photocopy or a photo of it.

Which category your licence needs depends on the machine, so ask us before you book rather than assuming.
There is no single Cyprus answer on age
Age is where the island answer gets specific, because there is no single Cyprus figure. The age depends on the machine. On the pages we read on 4 August 2026, one island operator publishes 18 for its 400cc and 800cc vehicles and 21 for its Polaris range, on the same page, and another publishes a flat 20.
Our own rule is that we may accept buggy hire from 18, depending on licence category, driving experience and insurance conditions. We publish the condition rather than a rounder number because the condition is what the insurer actually applies. We also hire to experienced drivers over 70, over 80 and over 90, subject to individual assessment.
What the EU licence directive actually says
On the licence category itself, one primary source does more work than every operator page put together. Article 4 of EU Directive 2006/126/EC places a quadricycle in category B1 at a minimum age of 16, states that B1 is an optional category, and states that a member state which does not operate B1 requires a category B licence instead. Category B carries its own EU minimum age of 18, which is the floor our conditional sits on. What the directive does not tell us is how Cyprus implemented B1, or how our two machines are type approved, so we say neither.
Two more sources are worth reading before you fly. EU driving licences valid for life are recognised across the EU, so an EU licence works here, and that page was last checked on 12 December 2025. It also states that provisional and temporary licences, and international driving permits, are not regulated at EU level and may not be recognised, so do not travel on a provisional licence and assume it will do. The UK Foreign Office confirms a UK photocard licence can be used to drive in Cyprus, and notes that an older paper licence may need updating to a photocard, or the right version of the international driving permit alongside it. May, not must.
Never hand over your passport
The same Foreign Office page carries a line nobody in this market repeats: rental companies often ask for your passport as a deposit, that is illegal, and you should never hand it over that way. We do not ask for it. One Cyprus operator page we read states that passports are held for insurance purposes, and we are not naming the company beside the word illegal, because the practice is the point rather than the brand.
On helmets, we will not guess
On helmets we will not guess. Two Cyprus operators supply one and neither states the legal position, and the Cyprus government and police pages we would need are unreachable. What we can tell you is what we do: every rider gets a briefing at handover, and a helmet comes free with every scooter we hire.

The excess is the first slice of any damage bill you pay yourself. Ours is 300 euro with the optional Collision Damage Waiver, on eligible bodywork only, and it excludes off-road use, tyres, glass, the underbody, the interior and the keys.

The only other published figure in this market
That first row is the sharpest comparison available anywhere in this silo. The only Cyprus buggy page in our set that publishes an excess at all publishes 5,000 euro, on a page that publishes no rate.
The part of our own terms that reads worst
Because the waiver excludes off-road use, damage sustained off-road sits with the renter, on a vehicle hired to be driven off-road. That is the market norm rather than something we invented: the UK Foreign Office says companies renting mopeds and quad bikes usually provide only third-party insurance, so you pay for damage to the vehicle. We would rather print that than describe our waiver as full insurance, which it is not. The claim to be alert to elsewhere is the bare one, all rentals include insurance, with no excess and no exclusion list attached to it.
The deposit, where we hold up
With a valid credit card there is no cash deposit, subject to approval, vehicle category and rental conditions, and otherwise a refundable deposit or a card pre-authorisation may be held. There is no prepayment at any stage. Not one of the eight pages we read publishes a deposit or a prepayment term, while two publish discount percentages instead.
What the excess actually covers, and whether a third-party excess policy is worth buying, is a separate question and not one this page answers.

What is in the rate, and what is not
The 60 euro covers more than the machine, and a few things appear later. Both columns are our own terms, confirmed 3 August 2026.
Two lines in that table are worth pausing on. Not one of the eight Cyprus buggy pages we read publishes a mileage cap, and we publish ours because it is a limit rather than a feature. And the 100 km figure is our published cap for the two-seat machine only, so terms for the six-seat are agreed at booking.

Most of the island's buggy supply sits in Ayia Napa, Protaras and Paralimni, and we do not operate in any of them. Latchi is not ours either, and that matters more than it looks, because Latchi is where the Blue Lagoon rides start.

Coral Bay, named on its own
Coral Bay is worth naming on its own rather than as one bullet of four. Buggy hire in Coral Bay is a search people actually run, and it is the only zone-level term in this cluster we can serve honestly.
What to ask any Cyprus buggy operator
Two of the eight questions Google shows on this search are about Protaras, and those readers land here. So here is something useful instead of an apology.

The Blue Lagoon is a real loss
That second list holds the biggest advertised thing we cannot do. The Blue Lagoon is excluded from our terms, and it is also a Latchi-side trip: the guided tours that run it start up there, on the far side of a town we do not serve. A hundred kilometres a day on the two-seater does not stretch to a Blue Lagoon round trip from our side of the island. If the Blue Lagoon is the reason for the trip, we are not the hire you want, and it is cheaper to learn that here.
How thin the published route rules are
One island operator publishes that you may drive on and off road but not on the beach, read 4 August 2026. Our own terms say nothing about beaches, so we do not adopt it. What we do publish is the zone list above and the agreement that sits behind it.
North of the Green Line
Driving north of the Green Line is possible only with our prior permission, separate insurance for the northern part, and the required documentation. Entering without our approval is an exclusion under our terms. The UK Foreign Office warns that vehicles hired in the Republic of Cyprus often have no insurance cover in the north, and that you will not be allowed through a crossing without the right documents.
Why not just take the hire car
Our hire cars are a different contract: sealed roads only, with off-road use charged at 300 to 600 euro per violation plus 15 to 30 euro per kilometre. That is the whole reason this silo exists. If the tracks are the plan, take a buggy and leave the hire car on the tarmac.

Search for buggy hire in Cyprus and tour marketplaces appear before most of the rental companies do. They sell a different product, so here is the comparison rather than the complaint.

Start with the figure that goes against us. Across four marketplaces read on 4 August 2026, on the German-language results for this search, a guided Cyprus buggy or quad ride runs from about 28 dollars to 100 euro for two to five hours, and two of those five products publish no price at all. GetYourGuide lists the 28 dollar entry, which is lower than any figure on our own rate card for a short ride. If two hours is what you want, a tour is the sensible buy.
Then the arithmetic that goes the other way. A Paphos guided buggy safari is published on one marketplace at 60 euro for two hours. Our two-seat buggy is 60 euro for twenty-four hours. Same currency, same figure, twelve times the time.
Where the tour genuinely wins: a guide who knows which track is washed out this week, a set route with no planning, somebody else's problem if the machine stops, and the Blue Lagoon, which the short rides run and our terms exclude. For a first ride and for the Blue Lagoon specifically, book the tour. For a full day on your own route with nothing prepaid, hire the buggy.

Quads and ATVs: what we rent, and what we do not
We do not rent quads. A quad is a single rider on a straddled machine, while a buggy is a seated side-by-side with a roll cage and belts, and ours seat two or six.
A lot of people arrive on this page looking for a quad or an ATV. Several Cyprus companies rent them and we are not one of them, so if that is the machine you want, they are who to ask. We publish no quad rate, no quad model and no quad availability, because we have none.

When to book, and what season does to the price
Searches for buggy hire in Cyprus peak in July and August and bottom out in December, and the swing is roughly eightfold from the UK and elevenfold within Cyprus, on the DataForSEO series we read on 4 August 2026.
The useful asymmetry is that UK searches hold up through January, February and March while Cyprus searches go quiet. The quiet months on the island are not quiet months for people planning a trip, so a summer weekend wants notice and a February midweek generally does not.
On price, the honest answer is narrow. Our rates vary by season and by length of hire, and we do not publish a seasonal grid because we do not have one to publish. We quote the real figure when we confirm.
That admission is worth setting beside the market: the island's best-ranked buggy site divides its own price list into three named seasons, April, May and October, then June and September, then July and August, and publishes no figure in any of them, read 4 August 2026. Season moves the price for everyone in this market, and nobody prints it. Search demand and price are two different curves, and we are not presenting one as the other.
