There is no prepayment. You pay on pick-up, in cash or by card.

If your plan is the unsealed tracks north of Coral Bay, a hire car is the wrong vehicle and its contract says so. This is the page for the other choice. We speak English and Russian.

Buggy rental in Paphos is self-drive hire of a small off-road side-by-side vehicle, taken out on your own agreed route rather than on a guided tour. We hire two of them: a two-seat 400cc machine and a six-seat four-wheel-drive crew cab. You pay on pick-up, and the route is agreed in writing first.

Buggy hire in Paphos with us, in short
  • Rates: 150 euro for one day on the two-seater and 80 a day from a week, 280 euro for one day on the six-seater and 160 from eight days, confirmed 26 August 2026
  • Excess: 300 euro with the optional Collision Damage Waiver, on eligible bodywork, and it excludes off-road damage
  • Deposit: no cash deposit with a valid credit card, and no prepayment at any stage
  • Age: we may accept hire from 18, depending on licence category, driving experience and insurance conditions
  • Licence: the original document in the correct category, held at least two years
  • Mileage: 100 km a day on the two-seat buggy, then 0.25 euro per extra kilometre
  • Routes: agreed with us in writing before departure. The Blue Lagoon and public highways are excluded
  • Pick-up: four points in the Paphos area, with free hotel and villa delivery at any length
  • Minimum hire: from one hour, and a rental day means 24 hours

We hand buggies over at four points in the Paphos area, and delivery to hotels and villas across that area is free at any rental length. Nothing is held until we confirm it with you by phone. No buggy of ours leaves that area: Limassol, Larnaca, Nicosia and Ayia Napa take our cars and no buggy, and Latchi and Polis are not places we cover at all.

What it costs to hire a buggy in Paphos

One day on our two-seat buggy is 150 euro and on the six-seat 280 euro, falling to 80 and 160 euro a day on a longer hire, all confirmed on 26 August 2026, with no prepayment and nothing to pay until pick-up.

Starting daily rates, read from our own price list on 3 August 2026. Both machines are automatic. Rates vary by season and by length of hire, and neither figure includes the optional Collision Damage Waiver. Minimum hire is from one hour.

Third-party liability insurance and 24/7 roadside assistance are already in the rate, so the figure above is not a stripped-back quote. The Collision Damage Waiver is the one optional addition. We read these rates off our own price list and print the date we read them.

The method behind that date, and how often we go back to it, is set out in how we verify prices.

What the others publish

Three other Paphos companies published these figures on 3 August 2026. CoolQuadCY listed a 400cc Sniper FX400 at 90 euro a day plus a 300 euro deposit. A.Koursaros listed a 600cc two-seater at 120 euro for one day, 220 euro for two and 300 euro for three. Energy Quad advertised from 50 euro a day across a fleet whose named machines are 1000cc.

The question people actually type is what a four-seater costs, so here is the straight answer: we do not have a four-seater. The six-seat CFMoto UForce is the machine a group of four takes, and it seats six rather than four. It is a four-wheel-drive crew cab with a cargo bed behind the second row.

A day with us means 24 hours, and hire starts from one hour. Neither of those is the norm in this town, and the comparison further down this page shows what the alternative looks like.

You will see these machines advertised as a beach buggy or a dune buggy depending on who is writing. Both names describe the same seated side-by-side we hire, so search for whichever you like.

One caveat on the word from. A hundred and fifty euro is the one day rate, and exactly two things move it: the season and how long you hire for. We do not publish a seasonal grid, because we do not have one, and we would rather say that than print a figure we have not committed to. We quote the real number when we confirm.

On a single day we are not the lowest published two-seat rate in this town. Ours is 150 euro and CoolQuadCY published 90 euro a day on 3 August 2026. Our rate falls to 80 euro a day once the hire reaches a week, which is where that comparison turns, and the table below shows everything we checked against.

Who can drive one: age, licence and what to bring

Bring a driving licence of the correct category, in the original rather than a photocopy or a photo of it, held for at least two years.

The original licence

Not a photocopy and not a photo of it.

Held at least two years

The tenure rule applies to the buggies as it does to the cars.

Possibly from 18

We may accept buggy hire from 18, depending on licence category, driving experience and insurance conditions.

The correct category

Which category your licence needs depends on the machine, so ask us before you book rather than assuming.

Yes, you need a licence to hire a buggy here, and it has to be the correct category for the machine. Rather than guess at the category, ask us when you send the request: it is one of the things we confirm before you travel. For comparison, another Paphos company publishes that a car licence is what it hires quads and buggies on, checked 3 August 2026.

Age is where this gets specific. We may accept buggy hire from 18, depending on licence category, driving experience and insurance conditions. That is our published rule and we are not going to round it off into a cleaner promise.

The condition belongs to the insurer, and every operator in this town has one. The difference is that we print ours before you book rather than applying it at the desk. Another Paphos company publishes a flat 18-plus with a car licence, checked 3 August 2026. A flat claim reads stronger than ours. It is also the claim more likely to change when you arrive.

At the other end, the oldest driver we can name on a hire is 90 on the pick-up date, and the rental line carries 15% more from 74 to 75 and 30% from 76 to 90. That is the same ceiling our reservation flow applies to a car.

Why we need the card itself

The original-licence rule costs us something, so it is worth saying why we keep it. CoolQuadCY publishes that a clear photo is enough and that the physical card does not have to be with you, checked 3 August 2026. We need the card itself, because the insurance is written against the document rather than against an image of it. If that is inconvenient, they are the more flexible option and you should know that now.

Two sources are worth reading before you fly. EU driving licences valid for life are recognised across the EU, so an EU licence works here. That page was last updated on 12 December 2025. The UK Foreign Office confirms a UK photocard licence can be used to drive in Cyprus. It also notes that an older paper licence may need updating to a photocard, or the right version of the international driving permit alongside it. International permits are not regulated at EU level, so nobody should tell you one is required.

Never hand over your passport

One thing nobody in this market mentions. The UK Foreign Office states that rental companies often ask for your passport as a deposit, that this is illegal, and that you should never hand it over that way. We do not ask for it.

On helmets, we will not guess

On helmets, we are not going to answer a safety question we cannot source. Two Paphos companies publish opposite legal claims about buggies, and the Cyprus police and government pages we would need are unreachable. What we can tell you is what we do: every rider gets a briefing at handover, and a helmet comes free with every scooter we hire.

North of the Green Line

Driving north of the Green Line is possible only with our prior permission, separate insurance for the northern part, and the required documentation. Entering without our approval is an exclusion under our terms.

This is general information, not legal or financial advice. Rental terms, excess and deposits change, so confirm with us before you book.

Where you can take it, and where you cannot

Routes are agreed with us in writing before you leave. No other Paphos buggy company we read publishes anything comparable, and that agreement is what makes the rest of this section mean something.

Approved zones may include
  • Lara Bay
  • Avakas Gorge
  • White River
  • Adonis Baths
  • Subject to current conditions, agreed in writing first
Not permitted on our buggies
  • The Blue Lagoon
  • Public highways
  • Anywhere not on your written route agreement

Approved zones may include Lara Bay, Avakas Gorge, White River and Adonis Baths, subject to current conditions. The Blue Lagoon and public highways are not permitted on our buggies.

The Blue Lagoon is a real loss

That second list is the biggest thing we cannot offer you. CoolQuadCY permits the Blue Lagoon and the Baths of Aphrodite on its 700cc-and-above machines, and two other local firms advertise safaris there, all checked 3 August 2026. So if the Blue Lagoon is the reason for the trip, we are not the hire you want. Better to read that here than to find out at the barrier.

What 100 km actually buys

The two-seat buggy runs to 100 km a day, and beyond that it is 0.25 euro per extra kilometre. A run from Chlorakas out to Lara Bay and back sits comfortably inside that. A full day criss-crossing Akamas does not, so budget for the extra kilometres rather than being surprised by them. The 100 km figure is our published cap for the two-seat machine, and terms for the six-seat are agreed at booking.

Why not just take the hire car

All of which is the reason this page exists. Our hire cars are for sealed roads only. Off-road use on a car is charged at 450 euro per violation on a standard car and 600 euro on an SUV or seven-seater, plus 20 to 30 euro for every started kilometre driven off the road. A four-wheel-drive badge does not change that contract. If the tracks are the plan, take a beach buggy and leave the hire car on the tarmac.

Which of those zones are actually open, and what the state closes rather than what we exclude, changes through the year. What you may drive to in the Akamas, place by place sets out each destination against the surface, the agreement and the current closures, with the dates they were checked.

Ask About A Route

This is general information, not legal or financial advice. Route approval depends on current conditions, so confirm with us before you book.

What is in the rate, and what is not

The day rate covers more than the machine, and a few things appear later. Both columns are our own terms, confirmed 3 August 2026.

The delivery line is worth pausing on. Not one of the five Paphos buggy companies we read publishes a delivery term for a buggy at all, checked 3 August 2026. Ours is free across the Paphos area whether you hire for one hour or a fortnight.

Our rental terms carry the full list, and the figures above are the ones that apply to these two machines. Read from our own terms on 3 August 2026.

In the rate
  • Third-party liability insurance
  • 24/7 roadside assistance
  • Delivery to hotels and villas across the Paphos area, at any rental length
  • A briefing at handover
  • Written route approval, agreed before departure
  • The first 100 km each day on the two-seat buggy
Not in the rate
  • Fuel, full to full, or a refuelling fee plus the fuel cost
  • The optional Collision Damage Waiver, 300 euro excess, eligible bodywork only
  • Kilometres beyond 100 a day on the two-seat buggy, at 0.25 euro each
  • Traffic fines, for which the renter is liable
  • Late return, 100 euro fixed plus 20 euro per started hour
  • A wrong-location return, charged from 300 euro
  • Damage sustained off-road, which the waiver excludes

Insurance, the excess and the deposit, including what we do not cover

Third-party liability is included in your rate. Our optional Collision Damage Waiver carries a 300 euro excess and covers eligible bodywork only. It excludes off-road use, tyres, glass, the underbody, the interior and the keys. On a vehicle you are hiring to drive off-road, that means damage to the buggy away from sealed roads is yours to pay for.

That is the market norm rather than something we invented. A.Koursaros publishes that its price includes third-party insurance, and Golden Ride publishes third-party insurance only, both checked 3 August 2026. The UK Foreign Office says the same generically: companies renting mopeds and quad bikes usually provide only third-party insurance, so you will have to pay for any damage to the vehicle. We would rather print that plainly than describe our waiver as full insurance, which it is not.

Excess, EUR, with the optional waiver
0

0
Cash deposit, with a valid credit card

And the caveat that sits beside those three numbers at the same weight: the waiver does not cover off-road damage.

The deposit, where we are genuinely better

With a valid credit card there is no cash deposit, subject to approval, vehicle category and rental conditions. Otherwise a refundable deposit or a card pre-authorisation may be held. And there is no prepayment at all: you pay on pick-up, in cash or by card.

What this town asks forWhat we do

And once more, because the Foreign Office line deserves repeating: never hand your passport over as a deposit.

This is general information, not legal or financial advice. Cover, excess and deposits change, so confirm the terms with us before you book. Last verified: 3 August 2026.

Hiring a buggy yourself, or booking a guided safari

Search for buggy hire in Paphos and four tour marketplaces appear before most of the rental companies do. They are selling a different product, so here is the comparison side by side.

Tour figures from a Tripadvisor listing for Buggy Rent Cyprus, with free cancellation, and from the Paphos catalogue on 365.tours, which showed 11 guided products, every one of them two persons maximum. Both read 3 August 2026, named and not linked.

Now the part that makes this comparison useful. The stops on those published safari itineraries, Adonis Baths, White River and Lara Beach, are the same places our approved zones cover. You are largely choosing between being driven there for three hours and driving yourself there for a day.

Where the tour genuinely wins: a guide who knows which track is washed out this week, no route paperwork, no navigation, and somebody else's problem if the machine stops. And the Blue Lagoon, which they run and we do not permit. For a first ride, three spare hours and no wish to plan anything, book the tour. That is the better buy and we are not going to pretend otherwise.

There is a reason you keep seeing tours where you searched for hire. On these searches tour operators bid 1.14 to 2.69 pounds a click, against 0.46 to 0.63 pounds for rental operators, checked 3 August 2026. The auction is louder than the demand.

Competitor terms as advertised on their own published pages, read 3 August 2026. We re-check these every 90 days, because not one of them dates its own figures and this page argues against them.
Where they beat us
  • CoolQuadCY permits the Blue Lagoon on its 700cc-and-above machines. Our terms exclude it, on either buggy.
  • CoolQuadCY accepts a clear photo of your licence. We need the original card, held two years.
  • Energy Quad confirms instantly. We show you live availability and the real price for your dates, then a person confirms it, so there is a wait between your request and a yes.
  • CoolQuadCY runs real-time GPS with remote engine disable, which is a genuine safety and recovery capability. We make no such claim.
  • On a single day CoolQuadCY is cheaper on the comparable 400cc machine: 90 euro against our 150. We are lower from a week, at 80 euro a day.
Where we hold up
  • 80 euro a day from a week against 90 euro a day for the nearest published 400cc-class equivalent, and 120 euro for a 600cc two-seater.
  • A 24-hour day against a published 08:30 to 17:00, and hire from one hour against a market that publishes no half-day or hourly rate.
  • No prepayment against a 50 euro booking fee and a 25 per cent prepay, and no cash deposit against 300 to 600 euro and 1,000 euro on selected vehicles.
  • Free delivery across the Paphos area at any length, which not one of the five publishes for a buggy.

One caveat on our own one-hour minimum: A.Koursaros does offer half-day hire on request, it simply publishes no rate for one.

What earns this section is the last row. Not one of these five companies dates a single figure. Paris K Rentals sits first in the local pack on the UK search for buggy hire in Paphos, on 724 Google reviews at 4.9 read 3 August 2026, and it publishes no model, no price, no deposit, no age rule and no route policy at all. Separately, A.Koursaros, which holds the top organic result on that same search, lists the exact six-seat CFMOTO UForce 1000 XL we hire and leaves its price blank. We publish no rating of our own, because we have not collected one.

We do not hire quads yet

A lot of people arrive here looking for one. We do not hire quads yet, and one is on order: the machine is ordered and the commercial terms are not yet decided. A quad is one rider on a straddled machine; a buggy is a seated side-by-side with a roll cage and belts. Several Cyprus companies do hire quads, and if that is the machine you want, our quad rental in Paphos page has the dated market rates, the licence question and what we hire instead.

Where we hand it over, and how to book

Four handover points, and only these four. Delivery to hotels and villas across the Paphos area is free, at any rental length.

What we do not cover

Since August 2026 our cars go to Limassol, Larnaca, Nicosia and Ayia Napa, and no buggy goes to any of the four, because both machines are based in Paphos. Latchi and Polis we do not cover for anything, which is worth saying because a company up that way does rent self-drive from Poli Chrysochous.

The island-level picture, including which towns hold most of the buggy supply and what to ask an operator we cannot beat on location, is on our buggy rental in Cyprus page.

How the booking works

The booking works like this, and one part of it is a trade rather than a feature. Pick your dates and we read both buggies against them live: you see which machine is free and what those exact days cost before you give us a single detail about yourself. Then you send it, we agree your route in writing, and a person confirms it by phone. That last step is the trade. Nothing is held until we confirm, so there is a wait where a bigger operator would flash a green tick. What you get for the wait is that none of your money is at risk before you see the machine: you pay on pick-up, in cash or by card.

Coral Bay is a car handover point too, and what a car costs from the same spot is on our Coral Bay car hire page.

When to book

Demand for buggy hire in Paphos peaks in July and August, and drops to roughly a sixth of that between December and March.

Our own search data, read 3 August 2026.

In practice a summer weekend wants a few days' notice and a February midweek generally does not.

Rates move with the season and with the length of hire, and we give you the real figure when we confirm rather than an estimate now.

Frequently asked questions

Cost, the licence and age rules, the four-seat question, the Blue Lagoon, off-road damage and how far you can go in a day, answered from our own terms and from primary sources.

A hundred and fifty euro for one day on the two-seat buggy and 280 euro on the six-seat, falling to 80 and 160 euro a day on a longer hire, all confirmed 26 August 2026. There is no prepayment, so you pay on pick-up. Both are starting rates and vary by season and by length of hire.

Yes, a driving licence of the correct category for the machine. Bring the original document, held for at least two years, rather than a photocopy or a photo of it. Ask us to confirm the category when you send the request rather than assuming it.

The original licence in the correct category, held at least two years. On age, we may accept hire from 18, depending on licence category, driving experience and insurance conditions. Never hand your passport over as a deposit; the UK Foreign Office states that is illegal, and we do not ask for it.

No. There is no four-seater in our fleet. The six-seat CFMoto UForce 1000XL is the machine a group of four takes, at 280 euro for one day and 160 a day from eight days, and it is a four-wheel-drive crew cab with a cargo bed that seats six.

Not on ours. The Blue Lagoon and public highways are excluded from our buggy terms. Approved zones may include Lara Bay, Avakas Gorge, White River and Adonis Baths, on written route approval. CoolQuadCY does permit the Blue Lagoon on its 700cc-and-above machines, checked 3 August 2026.

Third-party liability is included. Our optional Collision Damage Waiver carries a 300 euro excess, covers eligible bodywork only, and excludes off-road use, tyres, glass, the underbody, the interior and the keys. So off-road damage to the vehicle is the renter's. That is the market norm: two Paphos operators publish third-party cover only, and the UK Foreign Office says the same about moped and quad hire.

The two-seat buggy runs to 100 km a day, then 0.25 euro per extra kilometre. Routes are agreed with us in writing before you leave. Terms for the six-seat buggy are agreed at booking.

The answers that are the same whichever vehicle you take - when you pay, what the deposit is and who may drive - are on our questions and answers page.
