Our cars start at 17 euro a day and reach 75 euro a day by class. If you take the Collision Damage Waiver, the excess, meaning the share of a damage bill you pay yourself, is a flat 300 euro. Both figures come from our own price list, confirmed on 3 August 2026.

How much car hire in Cyprus actually costs
Our cars start at 17 euro a day. The range runs from 17 to 75 euro a day depending on class, and every figure below was confirmed on 3 August 2026.

These are starting rates. They move with the season and with how long you hire for, and none of them includes the optional Collision Damage Waiver. Hiring for a month or more sits on a different rate structure, so call us for a long-term or monthly quote.
For context, we read the two highest-placed comparison pages we could analyse for this search on 3 August 2026. Kayak gave an overall Cyprus average of 22 pounds a day, and EasyTerra advertised cars from 12 pounds a day. Neither page carried an observation date, and neither published an excess figure next to the price.

Automatic transmission is standard here rather than an upgrade, which is worth knowing if you have been quoted a surcharge for one elsewhere. We do not publish a seat count for the X-Trail, because ours is not confirmed in writing. Vehicle photographs show the class rather than the exact car you will be given.
We also hire two off-road buggies and a 125cc scooter. Those rates live on our buggy rental and scooter rental pages, both in research, and they are not part of the car rates above.

What is included and what costs extra
Third-party liability insurance, 24/7 roadside assistance and delivery across the Paphos area are in the rate. Four more items become free once your rental reaches five days.
Read the mileage row twice, because it is where our wording differs from the market. Unlimited mileage applies to daily rentals of five days or more, subject to rental terms. Shorter rentals can carry a cap. Most operators print unlimited mileage flat and leave you to find the condition in the agreement.
Our own terms, confirmed 3 August 2026. Minimum hire for a car is one day, meaning 24 hours.

The excess and the deposit, in plain numbers
The excess is the part of a damage bill you pay yourself before the waiver takes over. On our cars the Collision Damage Waiver is optional, and when you take it the excess is 300 euro on eligible bodywork. It does not cover off-road use, tyres, glass, the underbody, the interior or the keys.
The deposit works differently from the excess, and the two get confused constantly.

With a valid credit card you can hire from us without leaving a cash deposit, subject to approval, vehicle category and rental conditions. Where those conditions are not met, a refundable deposit or a card pre-authorisation may be held instead.
Our 300 euro figure sits at the bottom of the published Cyprus range. Whether to buy separate excess cover from a third party is a different question, and our car hire excess insurance guide will answer it when it publishes.

Who can hire: age, licence and how long you have held it
Cars are for drivers aged 21 and over who have held a licence for at least two years. Bring the original licence, not a photocopy.

Scooters and buggies
We may accept riders from 18, depending on licence category, driving experience and insurance conditions. Ask us before you book rather than assuming.
Senior drivers
We hire to experienced drivers over 70, over 80 and over 90, subject to individual assessment and rental terms.
Licence category
The correct category is required for scooters and motorcycles.
Kayak's Cyprus page, read on 3 August 2026, states that the maximum age for renting a car in Cyprus is 75. That reflects the suppliers on its platform rather than a rule of the country, so it is worth a phone call before you accept it. EasyTerra's booking form, read the same day, only offers driver ages from 30 to 65.
On licences, two sources are worth reading before you fly. EU driving licences valid for life are recognised across the EU, so an EU licence works here. The UK Foreign Office confirms a UK photocard licence can be used to drive in Cyprus, and notes that an older UK paper licence may need a photocard upgrade or an International Driving Permit.

Where we operate today, and where we do not yet
We hand keys over at four points, all of them in the Paphos area: our Chlorakas office at Griva Digeni 56, Paphos Airport, Coral Bay, and Kato Paphos. Delivery to hotels and villas across that area is free.
Limassol, Larnaca, Ayia Napa and Nicosia are not covered. This is a Paphos-area fleet today, so a car in Larnaca is something we cannot currently supply, and we would rather say so than take a booking we cannot honour. When a town opens, it appears here with its handover point, not before.
If your trip is in a town we do not reach, ask any Cyprus rental company these seven questions in writing before you pay
- What is the excess figure, in euro, on the exact car class you are booking?
- Is that excess also held as your deposit, and for how long after you return the car?
- Is mileage genuinely unlimited, or is there a daily cap and a per-kilometre charge above it?
- What is the fuel policy, and what is the refuelling fee if you return the car short?
- What are the age rules at both ends, and does the excess change for your age?
- Are unsealed roads and off-road tracks excluded, and what is the penalty?
- What does a late return cost per hour, and what does returning to a different location cost?
Every answer above is published on this page for our own cars. We read the five highest-placed car rental companies in Cyprus and comparison pages we could analyse for this search on 3 August 2026, and not one of them published a daily rate and an excess figure on the same page. Collecting the car at the airport
Five companies hold desks inside the terminals at Paphos and Larnaca: Avis and Budget, Hertz, Europcar, SIXT, and Petsas with Astra. The airport operator, Hermes Airports, lists them in Arrivals after Baggage Reclaim.
We are not one of the five, and it is better to say that plainly than to imply a counter we do not have. Our Paphos Airport handover is a meet and greet, free on rentals of five days or more. In practice you are meeting a person in the arrivals area, not queueing at a desk, and you need to give us your flight number when you book so we can track the landing.
Larnaca Airport is the highest-value car hire term in this market and we still do not hand over there, because we do not operate in Larnaca yet. If you are landing at Larnaca for a Larnaca holiday, an operator with a Larnaca base is the right answer, not us.
Booking direct with us versus a comparison site
Neither route wins on everything, so here is the honest split. We make our money from hiring out our own vehicles, which means there is no commission, no affiliate link and no third party in the transaction on this page.

Two rows go to the comparison sites, and they matter. They cover the whole island, so a Larnaca arrival heading to Ayia Napa can be booked today through them and cannot be booked through us. They also compare many suppliers at once, which is real work that we do not do for you.
What direct booking gets you is one excess figure known before the car is reserved, no prepayment, no cash deposit with a valid credit card, and a person who can assess an edge case. That last one is concrete: a 21-year-old with two years on their licence, or an 84-year-old with fifty, is a phone call for us and a rejected form field on a booking platform.
The rules that catch people out
Four things account for most of the trouble on a Cyprus rental, and all four are avoidable.
Insurance stops at the Green Line
The UK Foreign Office states that cars hired in the Republic of Cyprus often have no insurance cover in the north, and that separate cover can be bought at crossing points including Agios Dometios. Under our own terms you may take one of our cars north of the Green Line only with our prior permission, separate insurance for the northern part, and the required documentation. Never hand your passport over as a deposit
The UK Foreign Office warns against it on the same page and states that it is illegal in Cyprus. No rental company needs to hold your passport, and we do not ask for it.
Our cars are for asphalt only
Off-road use is charged at 300 to 600 euro per violation, plus 15 to 30 euro per kilometre driven off the road. If your plan involves the Akamas tracks, hire a buggy rather than risking a car.
Late and wrong-location returns are priced
A late return costs 100 euro plus 20 euro for each started hour. Returning the car to a location other than the agreed one is charged from 300 euro. Traffic fines issued during your rental are yours.

When to book, and when prices move
July and August are the busiest weeks of the year here, and automatics go first. Two or three weeks ahead gets you the class you wanted rather than what is left on the yard. November and December are the quietest months, and January is when most summer trips get planned.

Calling us in December or January for an August rental is early rather than odd, and it is the surest way to get an automatic 7-seater in high season. If your dates are in April or May, the Akamas buggy season starts before the beach season does, so those two months book earlier than their weather suggests.
Our own rates vary by season and by rental length. We do not publish a month-by-month grid, because we have not committed to one in writing, and inventing one would make this page worse. Ask for your dates and we quote the real figure.
