How we verify prices

Every rate on this site carries a date. This page says where the figure came from, who confirmed it, how often we go back to it, and what the date beside it does and does not mean.

Our own rates and terms were last confirmed on 3 August 2026.

Our own rates come from one file, and nowhere else

Our rates, our fees and our rental terms live in a single internal record that the owner of the company confirms in writing. Every figure the site publishes about our own vehicles is copied from that record, and the date printed beside it is the date the owner last confirmed it.

The rule we hold ourselves to is narrow on purpose: a figure that is not in that record does not go on a page. If we want to publish something new, the record is updated first. That is why you will sometimes see us decline to answer a reasonable question, and say so, rather than produce a number.

It also means our published rates are starting rates rather than quotes. They vary by season and by length of rental, and we quote the real figure against your dates.

Other companies' figures are dated observations, never quotes

When we compare our rate against another company's, we read that figure from that company's own published page, we write down the date we read it, and we name the company beside the number. We do not phone them, we do not estimate, and we do not carry a figure forward from memory.

We name those companies and we do not link to them. That is a deliberate policy rather than an oversight: we are a rental company writing about our competitors, so a link from us is not a neutral act. The name and the date are enough for you to check the figure yourself.

Where we have read the same figure twice and it moved, we publish both readings and both dates. That is the honest way to report a number that changes, and on one page it is the whole argument.

If a company stops publishing a figure, we remove the row rather than leave an old number standing.

What the date beside a figure means

It means somebody actually looked, on that day, at the source named beside it. It does not mean the page was edited that day, and it does not mean the figure is guaranteed to be the same today.

Some pages carry two dates, and that is deliberate rather than untidy. Our own rates and terms carry the date the owner confirmed them. Figures we read from another company's page carry the date we read them. Collapsing the two into one date would hide which is which.

A re-dated table that was not actually re-read is a lie, so we move a date only when the figure behind it has genuinely been checked again.

How often we go back

WhatHow often we re-read it
Our own ratesBefore each season and before June, when demand peaks, and whenever the owner changes them
Our own termsWhenever they change
Another company's published priceEvery 90 days, and every 30 days on pages whose argument is that those prices move
Another company's published termsEvery 90 days, because terms pages change without notice
Licence, age and road-rule claimsEvery 180 days, or immediately if the source changes
Our re-check cadence, in force from 3 August 2026.

Which sources we treat as primary

For anything about law rather than commerce, licences, insurance validity, road rules and age limits, we cite the source directly and link to it. In practice that means EU guidance and the UK Foreign Office travel advice for Cyprus, both of which we quote and date.

One gap is worth stating plainly, because it affects what our pages can say. The Cyprus government's own Road Transport Department site has refused our requests on every attempt we have made, across five separate research runs, and the police site now redirects into the same estate and refuses too. So we do not publish Cyprus statutory road rules, speed limits, the drink-drive limit or the statutory minimum driving age anywhere on this site. Where a comparison site states one and we cannot verify it, we say we cannot verify it instead of repeating it.

A conflicting figure from a commercial website is not a substitute for a statute, so we would rather leave a gap than fill it with something unverifiable.

What we do not publish at all

  • Ratings, review counts, star scores and testimonials. We have collected none, so we publish none, and we do not repeat another company's.
  • Live availability, or any claim that a vehicle is being held. There is no reservation system on this site yet, so a request is a request until we confirm it.
  • A live price quote. Our published figures are starting rates.
  • A month-by-month or seasonal rate grid. Our rates do vary by season, but that variation is not quantified in our written terms, so we will not invent a grid for it.
  • A saving figure against a named competitor. We do not publish what you would save by choosing us.

If you find a figure that is wrong

Tell us and we will check it against the source and correct it, or remove it. That includes a figure of ours that has moved and a competitor figure we have carried too long. The phone line and the email address below both reach us.
